The year is 2022. To think that outdated systems or rule, like a monarchy could still exist is preposterous. The advent of the internet has seen the exposure of cultural abhorrences, from indigenous land grabbing, to the theft of historical, even sacred objects, now on display at museums of Anglo colonizers, far from the native culture from which it spawned. Today Lakota tribesmen can only visit their sacred relics in white held stongholds that quietly keep them boxed away from public view. Elitist auction houses like Sotheby’s continue to hock precious indigenous creations to the highest bidder, with no regard for their places in indigenous rituals and history.
