The Disparity of Christianity in a Capitalist society
Today’s capitalist society is antithetical to any semblance of Christianity. People whose only concern is to aquire more and more while others around them suffer, are not following the teachings of Jesus Christ. He said that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven. He slso told a rich man to sell everything he had, give it to the poor, then pick up his cross and follow him. I was written that this troubled the rich man greatly. The truth is that to be a true Christian is to be in service, something that is sorely lacking in todays communities. I see so many homeless, begging on corners in Salt Lake City, a supposed hub of the "Church of Jesus Christ, of the Latter Day Saints" but the only thing I have experienced here, is pure, unadulterated greed. While billions are being spent globally to build opulent temples, adorned with golden angels, thousands are camping in tents ...
