The Losing Battle

Most people think that their existence can foster change, and that by standing for what is right and redeemable in their eyes, changes will result.

This is unfortunately not the case.

Guy Fawkes, whose face inspired the mask in the film "V" thought so too. 

He attempted to blow up parliament in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. His treason against the crown was followed by days of torture on the rack in the Tower of London,  and his subsequent execution where before he was hung, he fell from the ladder and died.  He was drawn and quartered, and each piece of his corpse was sent to the four corners of the city, an example of how the authority treated conspirators 

Today "Anonymous" has adopted his likeness to show opposition to this Authoritarianism.  I think that those followers mean well, while some are out and out Anarchists who despise all governance. But change doesn't happen overnight, and often times regression occurs when opposing parties take control.

Donald Drumpf  (his real name) is a xenophobic authoritarian, whose bigoted stance against BLM, and ANTIFA (anti-fascists) through stacking the Supreme Court with partisans has turned established law on its end. Cases like Roe vs Wade have been struck down, with the conservatives now eyeing LGBTQ+ rights and reversals of gun restrictions,  even in the wake of  deadly mass shootings. Standing up for what's right, now gets you on a list.

George Orwell was a prophet. 1984 is finally here. Factions of extremists and domestic terrorists now blanket the nation. Authorities whose Fascist views dominate the landscape, will soon be stomping on the faces of opposition.  

Today the twist in the Guy Fawkes narrative is that the Authoritarians have become the conspirators, Intent on destroying Democracy as we know it. The former president has committed multiple Seditious acts in attempting his Coup on January 6th, all the while enriching himself and grifting his racist followers.

The difference is that Guy was not a prominent person in society, but Drumpf is. As an long as people continue to place the wealthy on undeserved pedestals, we will continue to see the blind being led by the unscrupulous. 

So please if you see indiscretions,  absolutely,  stand up... but wear a mask.

 We seem to be defined by our display of flags... Each person more than likely owns one. Most are National flags representative of the country one resides in, or was born into. Some are school banners, where one was educated, while others represent their favourite sports teams. The Disparity of Christianity in a Capitalist society

  Today’s capitalist society is antithetical to any semblance of Christianity. People whose only concern is to aquire more and more while others around them suffer, are not following the teachings of Jesus Christ. He said that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven.  He slso told a rich man to sell everything he had, give it to the poor, then pick up his cross and follow him. I was written that this troubled the rich man greatly.  The truth is that to be a true Christian is to be in service, something that is sorely lacking in todays communities.  I see so many homeless,  begging on corners in Salt Lake City, a supposed hub of the "Church of Jesus Christ, of the Latter Day Saints" but the only thing I have experienced here, is pure,  unadulterated greed. The War on the Poor

 Well, the war on the poor is now in full swing. Many migrants who, for years and years, have come to this country to do the jobs white Americans refuse to do, are now under attack from this blatantly Racist and xenophobic regime. Mostly construction labour, harvesters and fruit and vegetable pickers, and service workers. This year has seen record numbers of unharvested crops, literally rot off the vine because of bigotry,  from white supremacist politicians in the Republican party. They sabotaged this countries own stability, to stick it to some of the hardest working people in this country.  All because of hate. Immigrant farm labourers are notoriously underpaid, and abused by a system that keeps them in poverty.  Many unions protect farmers from being abused by trade, but not migrants employed as agricultural labourers, and those employed in the domestic services of any person, family or home.
